“Native Vibe” (“we”, “our”, or “the Extension”) is a browser extension designed to provide AI-powered translation services. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our extension.
To provide the translation service, we process the following data:
User-Selected Text: When you trigger the translation feature (via context menu or shortcut), the text you selected is transmitted to our backend for processing. We do not store this text. It is processed ephemerally and returned as a translation.
Technical Identifiers (UUID): The Extension generates a random Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). This ID is transmitted to our server solely for the purpose of rate limiting (ensuring fair usage quotas, e.g., 50 requests/day). This ID is not linked to your real identity, IP address, or browsing history.
Data Storage and Retention
No Text Storage: We do not log, archive, or use your submitted text for model training. The text is discarded immediately after the translation is generated.
Usage Counters: We store your UUID and a daily usage counter in our backend database (Cloudflare KV). These counters reset automatically every 24 hours.
Third-Party Service Providers
We use trusted third-party infrastructure to deliver this service. Your data passes through:
Cloudflare Workers (Infrastructure): Acts as a secure proxy to hide API keys and enforce security policies. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
DeepSeek API (AI Service): The actual translation is performed by DeepSeek's Large Language Model. Your text is sent to DeepSeek for processing. DeepSeek Privacy Policy
Disclaimer of Warranties (The “Legal Firewall”)
AI Accuracy: The translations are generated by an Artificial Intelligence model. AI can make mistakes, “hallucinate,” or provide inaccurate information. Native Vibe makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or correctness of any translations.
No Professional Advice: The translations should not be used for critical medical, legal, or financial decisions.
“As Is” Service: The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We are not liable for any damages resulting from the use or inability to use the extension.
